Fansipan mountain the highest peak in indochina at 3143m and has the longest 3 rope cable car in the world. This is a great ride on its own. There are lots to see and with lots of steps some 600 you will be fit by the end(or take the short ride in the tram) to the summit. We heard that there are few days when it is clear at the summit but its an adventure so just go with crossed fingers. NB. The Cafe De Soleil near the summit charges 80,000vd for a black vietnamese coffee. Four times the normal price because you are a captive market. Drink your coffee lower down and avoid this terrible shame of a rip off.

Climbing Fansipan is great fun and a nice accomplishment. While you should not take it lightly, if you are prepared it can be very satisfying. highly recommended trip. but, again, don't underestimate it.

When is the good time to trek to Fansipan?
Answered by admin | 11 Jun 2019
Hi, the best time to travel would be in the dry season November to April. The temperature then is usually milder also, about 17 -22 degrees. During the Monsoon season the heavy rain will increase the volume and may prevent access to the Fansipan Trek. It is easy to access the trail down to the falls and back. It is not hard to find. You can get a bike or car to access part of the way, or cable car, or trek on foot for the whole way down and back. Be aware there are many, many steps. However, the path winds down through a village so if time allows you can stop and rest, or take coffee or a snack. You need to be reasonably fit to undertake, but it is very worthwhile. Going up the other side is less strenuous with more paths and a cross bridge.
